RECEPTION HELD FOR REPRESENTATIVES OF THE CZECH GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE SECTOR
On 29 June 2026, Her Excellency Ms. Bolormaa Batsaikhan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Czech Republic, hosted a reception to mark the presentation of her Letters of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic, and the commencement of her duties.
The event brought together representatives of Czech government institutions, the private sector, and the fields of culture, education, science, environment and defence, as well as partners who have contributed to the development of Mongolia-Czech relations and maintain close cooperation with Mongolia.
In her opening remarks, Ambassador Bolormaa underlined that the State Visit of His Excellency Mr. Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, President of Mongolia, to the Czech Republic in 2025, during which bilateral relations were elevated to the level of a Comprehensive Partnership, marked an important milestone, and opened a new chapter in Mongolia-Czech cooperation. She noted that the Czech Republic has always held a special place in the hearts of Mongolians, and that the friendly relations between Mongolia and the Czech Republic have been built over generations on hard work, friendship and mutual trust. Emphasising that people-to-people ties remain the strongest bridge between the two countries, the Ambassador noted that more than 15,000 Mongolian citizens currently live and work in the Czech Republic, including over 4,000 children - a clear sign that the future bonds between Mongolia and the Czech Republic are continuing to grow stronger.
Ambassador Bolormaa also highlighted that, at a time when Asia’s economic significance is growing, Mongolia can serve as a reliable partner and gateway for Czech investment, business and economic cooperation in the wider Asian region.
In her remarks, H.E. Ms. Marie Chatardová, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, stated that in today’s rapidly changing world, the Czech Republic regards Mongolia - a country with which it shares long-standing, traditional and friendly relations - as a trusted and reliable partner in the region. She noted the successful implementation of the Przewalski’s horse reintroduction project and the “Ilgeelt 2100” programme within the framework of the Comprehensive Partnership established between the two countries, and underlined the broad potential for further cooperation in public transport, infrastructure, security, defence, energy, aviation and forestry. Distinguished Mongolist scholar and former Ambassador Jiří Šíma also delivered remarks, sharing his memories and reflections on Mongolia.
The reception was attended by H.E. Mr. Igor Červený, Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic; H.E. Mr. Jan Sechter, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade and Co-Chair of the Czech side of the Mongolia-Czech Intergovernmental Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation; Mr. Jan Lipavský, Member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic; H.E. Mr. Jiří Brodský, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.E. Ms. Marie Chatardová, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and other representatives of Czech government institutions.
Representatives of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, the Veterinary Research Institute, EGAP, Omnipol, Finep, Topos, Dr. Müller Pharma and Contechin, among other organisations and companies implementing projects and programmes in Mongolia in the areas of trade and economy, also took part in the event. The reception further brought together representatives of the National Museum of the Czech Republic, Prague Zoo, the Czech Academy of Sciences, Charles University, the Czech University of Life Sciences, Mendel University, the Czech Film Commission, Mongolist scholars and research institutions. In total, more than 70 guests attended the event.
During the reception, morin khuur performers Ts. Munkh-Erdene and B. Khosbayar delighted guests with the traditional melody “Jalam Khar” and khoomei throat-singing. Mongolian national cuisine was served by Ger Camp Restaurant, and guests were also introduced to the “Amazing Mongolia” photo album, showcasing Mongolia’s nature, culture, history and way of life.
