DIRECT FLIGHT BETWEEN ULAANBAATAR-PRAGUE-RULAANBAATAR INAUGURATED
The ceremony for the first regular direct flight on the Ulaanbaatar-Prague-Ulaanbaatar route was held on July 10, 2024 at the Vaclav Havel International Airport. H.E. Mr. Gansukh Damdin, Mongolian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Mrs. Oyundelger Dagva, CEO of the Ezinis Airways Ltd., H.E. Mr. Jan Vytopil, Czech Ambassador to Mongolia, Mr. Jiri Pos, CEO of the Vaclav Havel International Airport were present among other officials at the ceremony.
In his remarks, Ambassador D.Gansukh noted that the direct flight opens a new page in the bilateral cooperation between Mongolia and the Czech Republic, which to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year. Also, he emphasized that it is the third gateway for Mongolia’s civil aviation companies to Europe as well as serves as a bridge between Mongolia and the European Union, a third neighbour.
Within the framework of the Air services Agreement between the Governments of Mongolia and the Czech Republic, "Ezinis Airways" LLC will operate flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays. On July 10th inaugural flight from Ulaanbaatar to Prague 81 passengers arrived and 153 were onboard to the home country from Prague. Other than Czechia, there have been transiting quite a few Mongolians living in Austria, Great Britain, and France to take this first ever-flight.
At present, more than 13 thousand fellow Mongolians live in Czechia and citizens of 32 European countries travel visa-free to Mongolia.
