Ambassador Bolormaa Batsaikhan met with Zdeněk Venera, Director of the Czech Geological Survey, and exchanged views on geological cooperation between Mongolia and the Czech Republic.

They agreed to finalize the draft “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the National Geological Survey of Mongolia and the Czech Geological Survey” in the near future.

They discussed organizing a gathering of Mongolian and Czech geologists in Prague in June 2027 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mojmír Krauter, a veteran Czech geologist who made a significant contribution to the discovery of the Erdenet copper‑molybdenum deposit and geological research in Mongolia.

They agreed to establish a joint working group to publish a commemorative photo book documenting the history of geological cooperation between the two countries.

Established in 1919, the Czech Geological Survey is recognized as one of Europe’s leading geological institutions, known for its extensive research collections, digital geological mapping, and integrated borehole database.
