Ambassador H.E. Ms. Bolormaa Batsaikhan met with Mr. Tomáš Kuchta, Director General for Economic and Science Diplomacy and Development Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, on September 15, 2026.
During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of further expanding trade and economic cooperation within the framework of the “Comprehensive Partnership” between Mongolia and the Czech Republic and promoting more balanced bilateral trade.
In this context, Ambassador B.Bolormaa requested the Czech side’s support and cooperation in promoting exports of Mongolian cashmere products to the Czech market and facilitating the participation of Mongolian manufacturers in the STYL & KABO international fashion trade fair to be held in Brno in 2027.
Building on the cooperation currently underway under the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ “PROPED” program, Ambassador B.Bolormaa proposed exploring opportunities to implement new projects in 2027 in the areas of wool and cashmere, geology, renewable energy, and digitalization.
The Ambassador also presented an initiative to organize a meeting of Mongolian and Czech geologists in 2027 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of distinguished Czech geologist Mojmír Krauter, who made a valuable contribution to geological exploration in Mongolia, including work related to the Erdenet copper-molybdenum deposit. The initiative also envisages the publication of a commemorative photo album and a book documenting the history of Mongolian–Czech cooperation in geology and the joint geological expeditions.
Ambassador B.Bolormaa expressed appreciation for the participation of the Czech delegation in the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17), held in Ulaanbaatar in August 2026.
She also informed the Czech side about an event to be jointly organized with Prague Zoo on September 28, 2026, highlighting the long-standing bilateral cooperation on the conservation and reintroduction of Przewalski’s horses in Mongolia.
