THE ACADEMIC CONFERENCE ON MONGOLIAN LANGUAGE IS BEING HELD IN PRAGUE
The Centre for Mongolian Study at the Charles University of Czechia is organizing the 3rd International Academic Conference under the theme “Mongolian Language and Culture in Contact” on 26–27 May 2026 in Prague.
Ambassador of Mongolia to the Czech Republic B. Bolormaa delivered an opening remark at the conference. In her speech, Ambassador expressed gratitude to Mongolian scholars and researchers for their valuable contributions to the international study and analysis of the Mongolian language, which is evolving in this era of globalization, rapid technological advancement, social and cultural change. Also, she highlighted the gracious work of professors, researchers, students and the Centre itself, which has continuously operated since 1976 as one of Europe’s few academic centres specializing in Mongolian Studies, and the Charles University leadership.

Moreover, Ambassador B. Bolormaa noted that the advancement of the relations between Mongolia and the Czech Republic to the level of Comprehensive Partners in 2025 reassures to strengthen collaboration in the sectors of education, culture, and science as well as expressed her confidence that the Mongolian Study will be a one of the important pillars of the bilateral cooperation.
The conference, which has been organized on biennial basis since 2022, is unique in studying and discussing at the international level the interactions and evolvement of Mongolian language and culture through cultural exchange and considered as an important event for expanding international cooperation in the field of Mongolian studies.
More than 30 scholars and researchers from 7 countries, including Mongolia, Czechia, the United States, People’s Republic of China, Germany, Italy, and Japan, are presenting their papers on about 20 topics, including linguistics, translation, and culture.
