The museum covers more than 2000 years of Mongolian history and presents permanent exhibitions in the following halls:
 
  • Ancient Mongolian States – Hunnu, Xianbei, Rouran
  • Ancient Nomadic States – Ottoman, Uyghur, Khitan
  • Great Mongol States
  • Great Mongol Empire
  • Chinggis Khaan and Nobles from the XIV-XX century
The Mongol Empire Hall, located on the 6th floor, displays the heritage of the kings and queens of the Great Mongol Empire as well as included exhibits from the XIV century, such as the golden sun and moon, an ornament of the Queen’s hat, a golden ring, vase and others can be found.
